Flagler Beach is a city in Flagler County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,954 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 5,228.
Geography - According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.1 miles), 3.7 miiles of it is land and 0.4 mile of it (9.80%) is water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,954 people, 2,535 households, and 1,493 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,345.1/mile. There were 3,224 housing units at an average density of 875.4/mile.
There were 2,535 households out of which 12.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.6% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.1% were non-families. 33.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.95 and the average family size was 2.43.
